LOW SLOPE ROOFING

LOW SLOPE ROOFING

Low Slope roofs require special care when deciding on the type of roofing material to use. Oftentimes we find that negligent contractors have shingled a low slope roof after building some type of addition and a few years later the roof is leaking. When water is running off of a sufficiently sloped roof its tendency is to fall straight down off the roof without any side-to-side movement. However, a low slope roof doesn’t shed water as quickly especially during heavy downpours. In these situations, water will often run behind the seams of the shingles and leak through where the nails have been driven. If you have a low slope roofing system it is best to use some type of roll roofing system. There are several options available these days. We prefer a two-layer self-adhered system. You can also use a TPO system like previously mentioned. keep in mind that it is bright white so the more slope the more visible it will be from the ground.
